Second Consecutive Shut Out for Men's Tennis

Traveling to Woodland Hills saw the Ventura College men's tennis team win their second consecutive match 9-0 taking down Los Angeles Pierce College. VC used several players in different roles and still picked up the commanding victory. Leonardo Santos and Victor Ribeiro played as the Pirates No. 1 doubles team and claimed a 8-2 win. Evan Gazic and Diego Rodrigues were winners on both the singles and doubles side.

Ventura (10-0, 7-0) was dominant from the outset and finished off a stellar team performance not dropping a single set of singles play. Gazic and Rodrigues were paired at No. 2 doubles and were winners 8-0. Gazic claimed a win as the Pirates No. 2 singles player. Rodrigues was a winner at No. 4 singles. Corey Karen continued a hot season for the Pirates team with a win at No. 1 singles in straight sets. Ribeiro won his match at No. 5 singles without losing a point for a pair of 6-0 set wins.

The Pirates will now head to the Central Valley for Friday Mar. 18 and Saturday Mar. 19 to take part in the North/South challenge for three matches. Then will return to Western State Conference play on Tuesday Mar. 22 with a match against Bakersfield at 2:00 pm.
