Tennis Makes It Three Straight

VC sophomore Vitor Mendes made the state semifinals in singles and teamed up with Victor Dos Santos to qualify for the elite eight in doubles at the CCCAA State Championships over the weekend at The Ojai Tournament.

MEN'S TENNIS:  The VC men's tennis team made it three straight wins Thursday with a 5-4 victory at Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills. Vitor Mendes was a double winner in No. 1 singles and with Matheus Montero in No. 1 doubles while Victor Dos Santos also won twice, in No. 4 singles and in No. 3 doubles with Dylan Foster. Arthur Da Silva accounted for the Pirates' fifth point with a victory in No. 5 singles. The win moves Ventura (4-4, 3-2) into second place in the Western State Conference standings.

VC will travel to Bakersfield on Tuesday March 25 for their final WSC dual match of the season before heading north again on Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30 to take part in the North/South Challenge at Fresno City College.
