The Pirates' golf team placed fourth of eight teams Monday at the Western State Conference No. 2 event hosted by Ventura at the River Ridge Victoria Lakes Golf Course in Oxnard. The Pirates totaled a team score of 401, three shots behind Citrus and two ahead of Bakersfield. Canyons and Santa Barbara finished 1-2 for the second straight week. Elijah Delsi and Nathan Long led VC, each shooting a 6-over 78.
Last week's medalist AJ Ryland carded an 80 for Ventura while Jonas Slattum turned in an 82. Owen Whalen was the fifth Pirates at 83 and Zack Garboski shot an 84.
The Pirates next hit the links at the WSC No. 3 hosted by Santa Barbara at the Alisal Ranch Golf Course in Solvang.
