Colborn Medalist, VC Golf Finishes Fourth at Riverside Invite

Evan Colborn shot an even-par 72 on Monday to tie for the top spot in the Riverside Invitational at Victoria Country Club, The Pirates carded a team total of 388, good for fourth place among the 16 teams assembled in the competitive field. Zack Garboski and Jonas Slattum also had solid rounds for Ventura.

Colborn tied with four other golfers for medalist honors while Garboski was tied for 10th, two shots off the pace. Slattum was 3-over on the day to finish tied for 12th.  Other Pirate scores included Steen Zeman at 83 and Nicholas Burns and Nicolai Cascione at 84.

Orange Coast won the event with a team score of 383 followed by Saddleback-A at 385 and Santa Barbara at 386. Cypress and Canyons-A were a close fifth and sixth, respectively, with a total of 389 and Glendale was sixth a stroke back. 11 of the 15 teams playing Monday carded scored below 400.

The Pirate golf team returns to Western State Conference play on Monday March 7 at Oakmont Country Club in an event hosted by Glendale College.
