Pirate Golf Second at WSC No. 1 at Valencia Country Club

In windy and cold conditions, Mason Teron fired a 3-over 75 to lead the Pirate golf team to a second place finish at the Western State Conference event hosted by College of the Canyons at Valencia Country Club on Monday. Ventura carded a team score of 408 for a second place finish behind the host Cougars with a 389. Santa Barbara was third two shots behind VC.

Teron's score on the Par-72 course was good for third overall. Tyler Herrera was next for VC with an 81, followed by Nick Burns and Michael Ray, each with 83's. Kaden Santos came in at 86 and Evan Colborn shot a 91 on the 53-degree day with 20-mph winds.

Ventura returns to the links on Monday Feb. 10 at the WSC No. 2 hosted by Glendale College at Oakmont Country Club.
