VC Golf Finishes 9th at SoCal Preview

VC freshman Michael Ray posted the Pirates' lowest score of the season Monday, shooting a 1-under par 71 at the Southern California Regional Preview at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.

VC freshman Michael Ray shot a 1-under par 71 to tie for fourth place overall on Monday as the Pirate golf team carded a team score of 383, good for ninth place in the 16-team Southern California Preview Tournament at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills. Mason Teron shot an even par 72 as Ventura was just one shot over their low score of the season.

Orange Coast won the tournament with a 257 while Mt. San Antonio was second at 367. Western State Conference foes Santa Barbara and Canyons each came in with a 369 followed by Palomar (371), Cypress (376), Irvine Valley (381), Desert (382) and Ventura.

Nick Burns shot a 76 for the Pirates while Kaden Santos carded an 81. Jake Yasutake came in with an 83 while Noah Hollander shot an 85 to round out the VC scores.

The Pirates return to WSC play on Monday April 15 at San Dimas Golf Club in an event hosted by Citrus College.
