Ventura Golf Third in Santa Maria

The Pirates' golf team battled difficult windy conditions at the par-72 Santa Maria Country Club course on Monday, placing third at the Western State Conference No. 5 hosted by Allan Hancock College. The Pirates carded a team score of 398, behind Canyons at 387 and Santa Barbara at 389. Freshman Nick Burns tied for fourth place overall with a 3-over 75 while Mason Teron and Jake Yasutake each shot 79.

Michael Ray was next for the Pirates with an 82 while Kaden Santos  carded an 83. Noah Hollander finished the day with an 89 for VC.

Ventura will next head to WSC No. 6 hosted by Antelope Valley College on Monday March 18. Tee times at Antelope Valley Country Club in Palmdale will begin at 10:00 am.
