Golfers Second at WSC-Victor Valley

The Pirate golf team turned in another solid performance Monday, taking second place at the Western State Conference event hosted by Victor Valley at Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville. VC posted a team score of 367, five strokes behind conference-leading Canyons and eight shots ahead of third-place Santa Barbara. Denis Kakimoto shot a 1-under 71 to tie for second place overall, leading the Pirates.

Brandon Resnick tied for fifth place with an even-par 72 on the day.  Other Pirate scores included Connor Philpott at 74, Joey Herrera and Kyle Dollison each with 75 and Jonathan Ortiz at 81.

The Pirates close regular season play on Monday April 24 at the WSC-Antelope Valley event before the WSC Championships tee off on Monday May 1.
