GOLF:  Pirate freshman Greg Robarge had a case of the nerves Monday morning. He bogeyed the first three holes of the CCCAA State Championships at Victoria Club in Riverside but gathered himself well, however, shooting an incredible six under par the rest of the way, posting a 71-70, 141 in the 36-hole event. He claimed individual runner-up and All-State honors in the season's final tournament. Robarge was just one shot off the pace at the 6,517-yard par-72 course after the morning round, and was the leader in the clubhouse in the afternoon before being edged by an opponent from College of the Canyons.

"That's really good," VC head coach Bob E. Smith told the Ventura County Star. "I'm really proud of the way he hung in there."
