Three Pirates' men's basketball players earned All-Western State Conference honors in voting by the conference coaches following the 2023-24 regular season. Sophomores Caleb Gilbert and Carter Alexander along with freshman Reese Widerburg each were named first team All-WSC for their play in the conference season.

Gilbert, a Ventura High School alumnus, led the Pirates in WSC play scoring 13.6 points per outing. He also pulled down a team-best 7.9 rebounds per game and handed out 1.3 assists and grabbed 1.5 steals for VC, playing in all 12 WSC North games. He shot 51.1 percent from the floor in leading Ventura to an 8-4 conference record.

Alexander, a Camarillo high School graduate, scored 12.4 points per game against conference foes, shooting 48.7 percent from the floor and making 81.3 percent of his free throw attempts.

Widerburg, meanwhile, scored 11.5 points per game while making 43.9 percent of his field goal attempts. The former Oxnard Yellowjacket was a perfect 20-20 from the foul line in WSC play.

Ventura was 15-13 overall in 2023-24, and 8-4 in WSC North play, finishing in third place in the conference, just missing a post-season berth.
