Ventura Runs Past Oxnard, 96-72

The VC men's basketball team returned to action Saturday, running past Oxnard 96-72 at the Condor's Nest. Adrian McIntyre led the balanced attack with 18 points and Shulton Tobin totaled 16, all tallied in the first half of play. Jelani Bell and Michael Noulowe each netted 14 in the game while Anthony McIntyre added 13.

The Pirates (15-2, 3-0) were hot from the outside in the pening 20 minutes hitting 10 shots from beyond the 3-point arc. Tobin totaled four three's in the period and Adrian Mc., Anthony Mc., and Bell each hit two 3-pointers. VC led Oxnard 52-37.

Ventura turned its attention inside in the second half with Noulowe scoring 12 points in the period. Caleb Geisendorfer also netter seven points over the final 20 minutes.

The Pirates' make-up contest with Allan Hancock College scheduled for Monday Jan. 24 has been postponed and tentatively rescheduled for Monday Feb. 21. Ventura next returns home to host Cuesta on Wednesday Jan. 26 at 5:00 pm.
