Turner, Henry Named All-State by the CCCMBCA

VC men's basketball standouts Timothy Turner and Dayshone Henry were both tabbed as All-State selections for the 2019-20 season earlier this month by the California Community College Men's Basketball Association. Turner was named first-team All-State by the coaches' association while Henry earned honorable mention accolades on the elite group.

Turner, the team's dynamic point guard from Harlan High School in Chicago averaged 14.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and a team-best 4.5 assists per game for the Pirates this past season. He also shot 50.8 percent from the floor, including a 37.2 percent clip from behind the 3-point arc, and 72.9 percent from the free throw line.

Henry, a product of Fremont High School in Los Angeles, led the Pirates with an 18.8 scoring average and a team-best 8.7 rebounds per contest.

The duo were also named Co-MVP's of the Western State Conference North Division, leading Ventura to a 12-0 conference mark, the first undefeated campaign in the WSC North since 2008. It was the Pirates' fifth straight conference crown. VC posted a 21-8 overall season record.
