The Ventura College men's basketball team had their five-game winning streak snapped with a 65-54 defeat at College of the Sequoias in the COS Wyndham/Mannon Classic in Visalia. Dayshone Henry had another double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead VC (8-5) and Jonathan Montesinos totaled six for the Pirates. Dayveon Bates pulled in nine rebounds with five assists while Tone Patton had six boards.

The Pirates fell behind 29-23 at halftime, and were outscored by the Giants 36-31 in the second half.

Ventura will return to the court on Saturday Dec. 21 in Visalia against Fresno City College. Tip-off with the Rams will be at 2:00 pm at the College of the Sequoias.
