The VC men's basketball team made quick work of the Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros Saturday night, racing to a 102-77 victory at the SBCC Sports Pavilion. Terrell Handy-Johnson and Dondre Watson had 17 points apiece, Jacob Alonzo had 16 points and Malcolm Ruff had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead Ventura (16-7, 4-0).

The Pirates raced out to a 52-34 halftime advantage, and were never really threatened in the final 20 minutes of play. 

Ventura will next travel to Cuesta College on Wednesday Jan. 31 to close out the first round of Western State Conference North Division play. Tip-off in San Luis Obispo is slated for 7:00 pm.
