VC Men Take Third at AVC

MEN'S BASKETBALL:  The Ventura College men's basketball team took third place at the Gregg Anderson Memorial Tournament at Antelope Valley College with a 100-76 victory over Los Angeles Pierce College Sunday. Freshman Rodney Bryant led six players in double-figures with 22 points while Vondel Faniel netted 20. Ivan Dooley had 18 points with Jalen Young, Jon McMurry and Ramon Franklin each scoring 10 points. McMurry also pulled in a team-high nine rebounds with seven assists for VC (6-6).

The Pirates will have 10 day off before returning to the hardwood at the Pepsi-Holiday Inn Tournament at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia on Dec. 20-22. The Pirates open with Cerritos College at 6:00 pm on Friday Dec. 20.
