Kyle Dugandzic enters his fourth season coaching for Ventura College football. He will coordinate VC's special teams for the second season along with coaching the ruinning backs in 2017. He will also continue in his duties with the specialists. A former kicker and punter for the Pirates, Dugandzic worked with the specialists his first three seasons, mentoring the Pirates' all-time leading scorer Jake Lanski (San Jose State) and Jesse Kelly (Eastern Michigan), who both signed at NCAA Division I schools following the 2015 season.
Dugandzic prepped at Agoura High School where he never left the field, playing wide receiver, safety, kicker, and punter. His performance earned him a spot on the Ventura County East All-Star Team in 2009.
After high school Dugandzic went on to play at Ventura College, where as a freshman he was a kickoff specialist under coach Jon Mack. In his sophomore year he moved to punter during current head coach Steve Mooshagian's first year. Dugandzic was named SCFA Northern Conference Special Teams Player of the Week twice during the 2010 season, against Chaffey and Bakersfield, as well as leading all California Community College punters in punts over 50 yards (10) and punts inside the 20 (21). His performance led him to receive Ventura College's Special teams MVP, first-team SCFA Northern Conference Punter (unanimous selection), along with a scholarship to play at the University of Arizona.
During his two seasons with the Wildcats, Dugandzic proved himself to be one of the top punters in the Pacific-12 Conference. In his first season in 2011, he led the PAC-12 and was sixth nationally in yards per punt (46), and was a bright spot during the Wildcats sour 4-8 season under Mike Stoops. Under new head coach Rich Rodriguez in 2012, Dugandzic's senior year proved that 2011 was no fluke, again remaining among the top in the PAC-12 in yards per punt and earned PAC-12 Special Teams Player of the Week against Oregon State. In that game he averaged of 45 yards per punt with all five punts landing inside the 20, including a clutch career long of 72-yarder late in the third quarter to pin the Beavers at the 4-yard line. In addition he also held Robert Woods to zero return yards in the Wildcats dramatic upset of No. 9-ranked USC. The Wildcats went on to turn their previous season woes around and finished 8-5, including an unbelievable come from behind victory against Nevada in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, ending Dugandzic's collegiate career with a victory.
Dugandzic holds the second and seventh best single season punting averages at the University of Arizona, 46 yards per punt in 2011 and 43.3 yards per punt in 2012. Additionally he also holds the Wildcats record for best career punting average with 44.65 yards per punt.
