Pirate alumnus Jonathan Goldstein ‘16 enters his fourth season on the Ventura College coaching staff. He will work with the specialists and coordinate the Pirates' Strength and Conditioning in 2023. He has been a part of Northern Conference crowns as an athlete and a coach from 2014 – 2017, 2021, and 2022 at VC. 

Goldstein was twice an All-Pacific View League player at Camarillo High School as a long snapper. Coach Goldstein started all 11 games his freshman season at Ventura College in 2014. Multiple injuries cut short his sophomore season before it began at VC, and he received his A.A. degree in Kinesiology in 2016. 

Goldstein transferred to California Lutheran University and transitioned to coaching at Ventura College for the 2017 season, assisting both in the weight room and on the field. 

In 2018, he returned to football for his final season as a Kingsman. Goldstein graduated from CLU in 2019 with departmental honors and his B.S. degree in Exercise Science. He also received his M.S. degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University in 2021. 

Coach Goldstein spent time as a Graduate Assistant Intern at Texas A&M and Northern Arizona University from 2019 – 2021 and was a Graduate Assistant at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2021 prior to returning to VC. 

Coach Goldstein is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) in addition to being USA-Weightlifting certified and CPR/First Aid Certified through the American Heart Association.
