Pirate defensive end Jesse Lemonaire has been named the Southern California Football Association Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Week. In the 50th edition of the Citrus Cup game at Moorpark Saturday, Jesse was a dominant force on defense. The sophomore from Miami Hialeah High School had a game-high eight tackles, including three quarterback sacks. He also recorded two quarterback hurries and a blocked extra point. If that was not enough, Lemonaire had a 28-yard run on a fourth down fake punt on a drive that resulted in a Pirate touchdown. The Pirates were victorious over the Raiders, 49-27, claiming their series record-tying 10th straight win over Moorpark.
