Constantine, Simms Earn Recognition From SCFA

Quarterback Jake Constantine and wide receiver/kick returner Savion Simms were recognized by the Southern California Football Association as Northern Conference Players of the Week for Week 7. Constantine earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for the conference and Simms was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for their efforts in Saturday's 45-30 victory over Canyons.

Constantine, a freshman from Camarillo high School, was 24-32 passing for 382 yards and four touchdowns in the conference-opening victory. He led four scoring drives of over 60 yards, and guided the Pirate offense to 25 first downs and 548 yards of total offense.

Simms claimed the special teams award for the second time this season.  The dynamic kick returner from Fresno Central high School posted  set up the VC offense with his four kick returns for 129 yards, an average of 32.3 yards per return, with a long of 37 yards.

These are VC's sixth and seventh SCFA Player of the Week Awards for the 2017 season.
