Josh Kubiske enters his third season with the Pirate baseball coaching staff in 2020. Kubiske will serve as the Pirates' assistant pitching coach. 

Kubiske was a former junior college player who went to play four-year college baseball. Starting at Oxnard College, Kubiske helped the Condors win back-to-back Western State Conference North Division championships in 2014 and 2015. In his sophomore season at Oxnard, Kubiske lead the team with 16 appearances, throwing 36.1 innings with a 1.98 earned run average. He earned a scholarship offer from California State University East Bay, an NCAA Division II school. In his junior season, Kubiske helped set the program's win and team ERA records. That season, the Pioneers won CCAA North Division and qualified for the NCAA Western Regional. Kubiske lead the team in appearances that season, as well.

Beyond the baseball field, Kubiske has experience as a private pitching instructor. During the summer, Kubiske coaches young players ranging in age from 12 to 18. Starting with basic mechanics and mental approach, he has a wide variety of skill sets that he brings to the coaching staff.

Kubiske graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing, and he has also earned his California State Real Estate License. Kubiske works at Heritage Real Estate, assisting with internet research, marketing, transaction follow up, property inspections, data entry & prospecting. He works and coaches full time while looking to further his education in the near future.
