Not even a hail delay in Woodland Hills could slow down the Pirate offense on Thursday afternoon as VC's baseball team posted a 15-4 victory over host Los Angeles Pierce. The game was delayed by the sudden downburst, but once play got underway, the Pirates were the ones knocking the ball all over the field. TJ Foreman led Ventura (6-3) with four hits, including three doubles, and five runs batted in while Brian Guy had a double and a home run with five RBI. Travis Weston pitched five innings to pick up the win on the mound.

VC got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first with RBI doubles by Foreman and Guy, and a two-RBI triple from Zane Chittenden

After the Brahmas scored twice in the bottom of the first inning, Guy had a three-run home run in the top of the second for a 7-2 Pirate advantage.

In the top of the fourth, the Pirates scored three more runs with an RBI double by Foreman, and RBI single by AJ Medrano and an RBI single by Gabe Baldovino.

Foreman was at it again in the fifth inning with the bases loaded. He knocked out a bases-clearing double to make it 13-2.

Pierce scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, and Ventura closed things out with a two-run eighth. Chittenden had an RBI single and Guy knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Weston made the start on the hill, pitching five complete while giving up four runs with five strikeouts. Brent Dickey came on in relief throwing three innings of one-hit baseball, and Tony Contrereas struck out two in a scoreless ninth.

Ventura continues their three-games in three-days stretch with a home date against Chaffey on Friday Feb. 22. First pitch is slated for 2:00 pm at Pirate Park.
