VC freshman outfielder Steele Ledford, sophomore shortstop Rudy Aguilar and freshman outfielder TJ Foreman led 10 Pirates on the All-Western State Conference North Division team as voted upon by conference coaches last month. Ledford was named first team All-WSC and won the Gold Glove Award for his defense while Aguilar was also named first team All-WSC. Foreman, meanwhile, was second team All-WSC and also earned a Gold Glove Award.

Ledford and Aguilar were the Pirates' lone first team selections. Ledford, from Thousand Oaks High School, led Ventura with a .371/.466/.581 batting line with 23 hits in conference play, eight for extra bases. He scored 20 runs in 17 WSC North games and won the Gold Glove Award with a .981 fielding percentage in right field with 53 put-outs and one error.  Aguilar, a product of Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, hit .337/.372/.434 in 20 conference outings, with 28 hits and 18 RBI.

Foreman was a second team All-WSC honoree while winning the Gold Glove Award. He had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 45 catches in left field.

Sophomore catcher Shane Gipson and sophomore designated hitter Chris McKee also earned second team accolades, as did freshman second baseman Dayton Provost and freshman pitcher Noah Proffitt.

Sophomore outfielder Eric Thrower, freshman starting pitcher Blake Campbell and freshman reliever Sal Delgado all earned honorable mention All-WSC honors.

The Pirates finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 20-20, 10-10 in conference play. They finished tied for third place in the ultra-competitive WSC North Division, missing the post season by a single game.
