VC Baseball Falls In Extra Frames to Pasadena

Ventura College baseball went to 11 innings, but were unable to finish off a win falling 8-5 to Pasadena City. The Pirates got nine hits in the game with Brison Cronenbold picking up two hits and two runs scored. Adisson Pelupessy had two and an RBI. Pelupessy went seven innings allowing five runs only two earned on 10 hits with one strikeout.

Ventura (7-5, 1-1) got out to an early 4-2 advantage, but failed to capitalize on several opportunities to extend their lead. PC was able to cut into the deficit and eventually take the lead back 5-4 after the top of the seventh inning. Following a leadoff triple from Cronenbold he was plated by Robert Stephan to tie the game. VC left Stephan on base setting the stage for extra baseball. The Pirates had chances to win the game in the 8th inning and 10th inning, but were unable to get a key two out hit to win. 

Cronenbold added a double to go with his triple. Pelupessy had a double to go with his RBI single. Tony Fonzo and Ryan Coker drove in runs. Fonzo picked up his first steal of the season. Five Pirate errors allowed for three unearned runs.

Ventura will play host to Citrus College on Saturday Feb. 27 for a 1:00 pm game. They will return to Western State Conference North play on Tuesday Mar. 1 for a 2:00 pm game with cross county rival Moorpark College.
