The Ventura College baseball team took to the road for their fourth straight road game at Citrus College and brought home a 10-2 victory. Sophomore third basemen Tony Fonzo powered the Pirate offense to a double digit hit and double digit run day. Fonzo collected three hits which each produced runs with a RBI single, a grand slam home run and a two RBI double. Nate Green tossed his second consecutive complete game victory with five strikeouts.

The Pirates (4-3) in the middle of six consecutive road games traveled to a school where they have never won a road game in school history. Today though was a day to change the past as the Pirates were solid in all three facets of the game. Fonzo produced eight total runs on the day with seven RBI's and one run scored, while drawing a walk in the game. Adisson Pelupessy collected two hits including an RBI single and scored two runs while stealing a base. Evyn Yamaguchi picked up two hits and one RBI. Bryson Wallet added a double and a run scored. Brison Cronenbold scored two runs and drove in one run. Green went the distance for the Pirates for the second straight game allowing just two runs in the second inning. He allowed just five hits in the game.

Ventura scored one run in the first inning, but handed back the lead in the second inning when Citrus plated two runs. The Pirates though responded quickly and loudly as they loaded the bases with nobody out, Cronenbold lined a single of the top of the left centerfield wall which is 20 feet high. Then Fonzo who drove in the first VC run with a two strike single to right, jumped on the first offering blasting a grand slam to left field. Wallet followed with a double and scored on a Yamaguchi RBI single. Ventura plated three runs in the fifth inning with a Pelupessy RBI single and a two out two RBI double from Fonzo.
