Tony Fonzo's lead-off double in the fourth inning was VC's only hit of the day in their 3-0 loss at Cuesta Thursday.

The Pirate baseball team left its offense at home on their trip to San Luis Obispo Thursday to face the Cuesta Cougars.  VC managed just one hit and three walks in their 3-0 loss tin Western State Conference North Division action.  Tony Fonzo's fourth-inning double was the only hit for the Pirates (4-12, 1-6).

VC managed a threat in the third inning when Adam Maciel walked and stole second. One batter later, Adisson Pelupessy walked, followed by a free pass to Bradley Fullerton to load the bases.  VC grounded into an inning-ending double play, however, to end the threat.

The Pirates return to Pirate Park to host the Cougars Saturday March 7 at 1:00 pm to close the two-game set.
