Pirate Bats Heat Up at PCC

BASEBALL:  A day after Jackie Robinson Day was celebrated throughout major league baseball, the Pirate baseball team celebrated a victory at Jackie Robinson Field in Pasadena on Wednesday. The VC offense heated up with 14 runs and 16 hits as the Pirates defeated Pasadena City College 14-6. Michael Volaski was 3-4, including a double, with three runs scored and a pair of RBI while Brian Magana was 2-2 with two walks, two RBI and four runs scored. Garrett Serino had a pair of hits and batted in two runs and Scott Morton had two hits with an RBI. Tyler Watson threw another solid outing pitching seven shutout innings to pick up his sixth win of the year.

David Newland had three RBI with a hit and Harrison Crawford was 2-4 with two runs scored. Watson scored twice offensively, reaching base on a walk and an error and Bradley Montgomery came of fthe bench to hit 1-2 with a run and an RBI.

The Pirates travel to Mt. San Antonio on Friday April 19 for a 7:00 pm game before heading abckt to Pirate Park for their final home game of the year on Tuesday April 22 against Hancock at 2:30 pm.
