BASEBALL:  The Pirate baseball team gave up one big inning Tuesday at Los Angeles Pierce, and it cost them as the Brahmas prevailed over VC 5-2 to split the season series. Pierce scored four times with two outs in the second inning and held on down the stretch. Harrison Crawford had an RBI single in the first inning and a home run in the sixth to produce the Pirates' only runs of the day. Tyler Watson doubled and scored and Brian Magana had a double for VC (10-18, 6-10). David Newland and Bradley Fullerton also had singles for the Pirates.

Ventura will travel to San Luis Obispo to battle Cuesta College on Thursday April 10 before returning home on Friday April 11 to close the season series with the Cougars. Both games are set to begin at 2:30 pm.
