BASEBALL:  The Ventura College baseball team continued their rocky road on Tuesday evening against another ranked opponent, at No. 9 East Los Angeles College. The huskies put up three unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back, defeating the Pirates 9-0. Freshman Garret Serino picked up two of the four hits on the night for VC (4-5). Sophomore Tyler Watson took the loss on the hill, tossing five innings and allowing five runs, two of which were earned.

The Pirates offense struggled to get started until the fourth inning when they left runners on base in four of the final five innings, including runners at second base and third base twice. Freshman Josh Olson collected his first collegiate hit off the bench in the eighth inning.

Ventura is off until Saturday Feb. 22 when they travel to No. 7 Santa Ana College for a 1:00 pm game against the Dons. VC will return home on Saturday March 1.
