Fresh off the program's first conference championship, the Ventura College beach volleyball team will host one of four CCCAA regional finals Tuesday at the Harbor Cove Courts at the Ventura Marina. VC (13-4) will host Long Beach and Cypress in the triangular match to decide one of four participants in the CCCAA State Final Four to be held Friday May 5 at West Valley College in Saratoga. The Pirates will play matches at 12:00 and 2:00 pm.
The schedule for the day begins with five pairs matches featuring Ventura and Long Beach at 12:00 pm. That will be followed at 1:00 pm with the Vikings taking on Cypress. VC will then battle the Chargers at 2:00 pm in the round-robin format.
The team with the best record on the day will advance to the state final four. If the three teams are tied, pairs matches won, then sets won will be used as a tie breaker.
This is the second year for the beach volleyball program at Ventura College. Tuesday's playoff appearance is the first home post-season event in program history, as Ventura traveled to the regionals in 2016, finishing second to Grossmont College.
