Flores and Hunter Fall in State Elite EightMay 07, 2017For the first time in program history, the Ventura College beach volleyball team had a pair advance to the elite eight of the CCCAA State Championships. Unfortunately for Sariah Flores and Armonee Hunterm, thats where the journey ended Sunday. The Pirate duo fell in the state quarterfinals to a team from San Diego Mesa 21-10, 21-19 Sunday morning in play at West Valley College in Saratoga.

Simental/Wright Make Sweet 16; Flores/Hunter Move to Day TwoMay 06, 2017On the first day of the CCCAA State Beach Volleyball Championships, the Pirate team of Janessa Simental and Madison Wright won their first match of the day to advance to the Sweet 16 while Sariah Flores and Armonee Hunter won two matches, moving into the state quarterfinals to be held Sunday. VC also had two more pairs compete Saturday at West Valley College in Saratoga on day one of the championships.

Beach Volleyball Has Strong Showing in RegionalsMay 02, 2017The Ventura College beach volleyball team gave it a good run but fell just short Tuesday in the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs at the Harbor Cove Courts at the Ventura Marina Tuesday. The Pirates (14-5) fell to Long Beach 5-0 with three matches going three sets before defeating Cypress 4-1 in the triangular contest. Long Beach also defeated Cypress 4-1 to advance to the State Final Four while VC had to settle for a strong second place regional finish for the second straight year.

Beach Volleyball to Host Regional ChampionshipsApril 30, 2017Fresh off the program's first conference championship, the Ventura College beach volleyball team will host one of four CCCAA Regional Finals Tuesday May 2 at the Harbor Cove Courts at the Ventura Marina. VC (13-4) will host Long Beach and Cypress in the triangular match to decide one of four participants in the CCCAA State Final Four to be held Friday May 5 at West Valley College in Saratoga. The Pirates will play matches at 12:00 and 2:00 pm.

Hiott & Dosch Win Gold, 4 VC Pairs Qualify For StateApril 28, 2017VC Sophomores Tori Hiott and Paris Dosch defeated teammates Mikayla Spears and Brianna Finch to win the Western State Conference Beach Volleyball championship Friday at the Harbor Cove Courts at the Ventura Marina. Additionally, Janessa Simental and Madison Wright finished fourth in the tournament while Sariah Flores and Armonee Hunter came in fifth. As a result of the results of the WSC draw, the four teams qualify for the state championships to be held May 6-7 at West Valley College in Saratoga.

Pirates Sweep to Perfect WSC EndingApril 21, 2017The Pirates' beach volleyball team swept Victor Valley and Antelope Valley Friday at the Harbor Cove Courts to close out a perfect Western State Conference season. The 2017 WSC champions did not lose a set in the two matches, defeating both visitors 5-0. The No. 4 duo of Madison Wright and Janessa Simental led the way for Ventura (13-4, 6-0), allowing a total of 18 points in their four sets.

Beach Volleyball Claims First WSC CrownApril 14, 2017The Ventura College beach volleyball team swept matches against Victor Valley and Bakersfield Friday in Bakersfield to claim the program's first Western State Conference championship. The Pirates (11-4, 4-0) defeated VVC 5-0 before downing the host Renegades 3-2. VC's No. 1 team of Paris Dosch and Tori Hiott, the No. 3 duo of Sariah Flores and Armonee Hunter, and the No. 4 pair of Janessa Smiental and Madison Wright all went 2-0 on the day.

Beach Volleyball Opens WSC Play With Two VictoriesApril 07, 2017The Ventura College beach volleyball team opened Western State Conference play Friday at the Harbor Cove Courts at the Ventura Marina with a pair of wins, 3-2 over Bakersfield and 5-0 over Antelope Valley. The Nos. 1, 2 and 4 teams of Tori Hiott and Paris Dosch, Mikayla Spears and Brianna Finch, and Jessica Simental and Madison Wright all prevailed in two matches for the Pirates (9-4, 2-0).

Ventura Sweeps Two More Home Matches at the MarinaMarch 24, 2017On a nearly perfect day at the Ventura Marina, the Pirates' beach volleyball team swept two non-conference matches Friday on the Harbor Cove Courts. Ventura defeated a club team from Los Angeles Pierce College 3-2 in the opening contest of the day before blanking a club team from Santa Monica College 5-0. the No. 5 duo of Daisy Martinez and Madison Wright swept through their two matches without dropping a set to lead the way.

Beach Volleyball Takes Two of Three From Orange Empire TeamsMarch 17, 2017Playing in one of the hubs of beach volleyball, Huntington Beach, the Pirates took two fo three matches from Orange Empire Conference foes Friday, narrowly missing the sweep. Ventura (5-4) swept Fullerton 5-0 in the first match of the day before falling to host Golden West 3-2. VC ended the day on a high note, taking the match-up with Santa Ana 4-1. VC's No. 2 team of Mikayla Spears and Brianna Finch, along with the No. 3 duo of Sariah Flores and Armonee Hunter each won all three of their matches on the day.

VC defeated Rio Hondo 5-0 in the first contest of the day before sweeping Santa Rosa 5-0 in the second match. The No. 1 team of Tori Hiott and Paris Dosch went 4-0 in their two matches, as did the No. 3 duo of Sariah Flores and Armonee Hunter.

Beach Volleyball Swept in Two Matches at CSU NorthdridgeMarch 03, 2017The VC beach volleyball team was swept in a pair of matches in Cal State Northridge on Friday. The Pirates lost to the host Matadors, an NCAA Division I team, 5-0 before falling to Long Beach City College 4-1. VC's No. 3 team of Janessa Simental and Armonee Hunter earned Ventura's lone victory of the day, a come-from-behind 21-23, 21-16, 15-13 win over Long Beach.

Beach Volleyball Splits Opener in San DiegoFebruary 24, 2017The VC beach volleyball team split its opening two matches of the 2017 in San Diego Friday. VC fell to host San Diego Mesa 5-0 before coming back to defeat Benedictine University 3-2. THe No. 1 team of Paris Dosch and Tori Hiott extended their opener against the Olympians to three sets before taking their second match of the day, as did the No. 3 team of Sariah Flores and Paulina Iverson.
