The VC men's basketball team captured their first two Western State Conference North Division games last week, defeating Oxnard and Cuesta. Leading the charge was freshman guard Dominik Contreras who totaled 39 points and 12 rebounds in the two-game week. The Oxnard High School product had a career night Saturday at Cuesta, totaling 32 points on 13-18 shooting from the field, including a 5-10 night from beyond the 3-point arc. For his outstanding effort, Dominik is this week's VC Pirate Student Athletes of the Week sponsored by M & M Sports.
