This week's VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week comes from women's soccer. The Pirates have won four straight games, including a pair of 1-0 decisions last week in the Bay Area at Evergreen Valley and Hartnell. Team captain Andrea Ibarra has been a strong leader on the field for Ventura from her attacking midfield position. The freshman from Oxnard High School played all 180 minutes in the two victories up north and has been singled out for her outstanding play and leadership for the young Pirate side.
