Brandyn Robles, Men's Water Polo, Week of October 7

The Ventura College men's water polo team has found it way back to relevance this season, posting a 7-5 mark to this point and a 2-0 record in Western State Conference play. Helping lead the charge is freshman attacker Brandyn Robles. The Rio Mesa High School product scored five goals this past week in VC's 19-8 defeat of Santa Monica, helping set up the Pirates' date with No. 3-ranked Los Angeles Valley on Oct. 16. On the season he leads the team in assists with 30 and is third on the team in scoring with 30 goals.

"Brandyn has been a great addition to the Pirates," said first-year head coach Travis Allain. "He attacks every minute of the game, and produces on both offense and defense. (He) is a positive team player."

Brandyn has been named this week's M & M Sports VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week.
