The Ventura College men's basketball team kept pace in the Western State Conference race with a come-from-behind win Saturday, their third victory in a row. Forward Trevor LaCount had an outstanding effort with 22 points to help pace VC. The 6-foot-6 freshman from Ventura high School netted 16 of his points in the second half as Ventura defeated Santa Barbara on the road, 96-91. He also pulled down eight rebounds in the win. Trevor has been named this week's VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week for his strong play.
