The Pirate volleyball team has been a fixture in the state nd regional polls this season, in large part behind the outstanding play of sophomore Brittney Mukhar. She continued her strong season last week leading VC to a pair of conference wins. In victories over Los Angeles Mission and Cuesta, Mukhar had 22 kills with a .273 hitting percentage. She also had 17 digs, three service aces and a pair of blocks to help solidify the Pirates for playoff position later this month. Brittney, who prepped at Lancaster high School, has been named this week's VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week.
