Although it has been a rough season for the Pirate volleyball team, the team continues to work hard every day and every match, despite the close calls and disappointments. The team's hard work paid off this week as VC broke through with a four-set win at West Los Angeles College Friday night. Freshman Syndey Morris led the VC effort with eight kills and 13 digs. Morris, who came to VC from St. Bonaventura High School, is this week's VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week sponsored by Pacific Aire Heating and Cooling.
