Ventura College provides a complete support system for the athlete that includes: athletic advising, athletic trainer, two equipment managers, faculty mentor program, tutoring program, study tables, and complete indoor and outdoor facilities. Training and conditioning are possible year-round. Ventura College provides a quality athletic program both in breadth and depth of offerings that will challenge your skills, be sensitive and responsive to your academic needs and prepare you to transfer to a four-year college or university.

Steps to Registration & Enrolling as a new student at Ventura College

For new students who graduated from high school in Ventura County, Ventura College offers the Ventura College Promise. The "Promise" is that all Ventura County high school graduates will have their enrollment fees covered during their first year of attendance at Ventura College. This same promise is extended to students who have successfully completed their GED requirements or who have completed the coursework for high school, but have not yet passed their exit exam. Expenses covered by the Ventura College Promise include the per-unit cost of classes, the Student Rep fee, the Health fee, and the Student Center fee.

Information About Financial Aid at Ventura College

Any prospective student-athlete not living within the state of California desiring information regarding athletic participation at Ventura College is required to first make contact with a representative of Ventura College either in writing, electronically or by telephone.

The CCCAA Constitution ByLaw 2 prohibits any California Community College college from paying for any expenses of attendance, including paying for "tuition, fees, housing, meals, books,"etc. (CCCAA ByLaw 2.11.2.B).  All prospective student athletes need to know the financial costs associated with attending VC.

Estimated Out Of State Expenses 

Ventura College has an office dedicated to helping all international students who wish to attend, with an International Student Advisor, Ellie Yoo, (805-289-6182, jyoo@vcccd.edu).  She assists all international students in providing assistance on immigration matters, coordinating all campus and community services available to foreign students, providing liaison with sponsoring agencies and foreign governments and promoting interaction between foreign students and the college and local community.

The VC Pirates Cove is a complete student success center equipped with computers, copy, fax and scan capabilities.   Students can work daily in a supervised/distraction free study hall, receive referrals to campus services and regularly scheduled study skills sessions with faculty members.

Ventura College is a member of the Western State Conference (WSC), the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). We abide by the CCCAA constitution, bylaws, and WSC sports guides. The Dean of Health, Physical Education & Athletics, the Athletic Director and the eligibility clerk determine all athletic eligibility. The Athletics Director and Dean monitor the integrity of the athletic program regarding rules, compliance, and eligibility.
