Ventura College Sportsplex

Groundbreaking for the new Ventura College Sportsplex was held Sept. 1, 2005, and after construction delays, the stadium opened in the spring of 2009. The $9 million facility renovation funded by Measure "S" bond revenues hosts six intercollegiate programs: men's and women's track, football, women's soccer, and men's and women's cross country.

The facility has a state-of the-art polyethylene playing field surrounded by a nine-lane all-weather track. The bleachers accommodate 3,000 spectators and offers a 40-foot press box and four individual viewing boxes for special guests. Access to the press box and viewing boxes is via elevator.

The entry way to the Sportsplex is off of West Campus Way, and includes an entry plaza, concession/barbeque area, and restrooms. The entire plaza is professionally landscaped and lighted, and is a full 10 feet above the playing field for better viewing. The complex also has a new scoreboard and Piratevision video board, and a state-of-the-art sound system.

In addition to being the home of the Pirates, the VC Sportsplex also hosts the Ventura County Fusion Soccer Club and St. Bonaventure High School football.
