Ventura College Athletic Event Center

The Ventura College Athletic Event Center is known throughout the state as one of the toughest venues for opposing teams to visit. Constructed with the campus in 1955, the AEC is the long-time home to the successful men's basketball program. With the advent of title IX in the 1970's, the Pirate women's basketball and volleyball teams began playing games in the AEC in 1975.

The 2002 passage of Measure "S" allocated bond money for the renovation of the Athletic Event Center. Stadium seats were installed in the lower bleacher area, along with new scoreboards and a marquee message board. The Pirates' combination of an outstanding facility and the greatest fans makes the Ventura College Athletic Event Center the best venue in the state.
