Welcome to VC! My name is Sheehan Casey and I am the counselor for student-athletes here at Ventura College. My role is to ensure that all student-athletes have the tools and resources to be successful both in and out of the classroom, work collaboratively with students to develop their educational plan in order to meet their academic and athletic goals, and to provide timely and accurate information as it relates to the complicated academic requirements that all student-athletes face. As a former community college student-athlete myself and counselor for athletes since 2013, I know firsthand the potential pitfalls that our student-athletes encounter and how to be proactive to avoid those obstacles. I encourage all students to meet with me individually, in a group counseling session, and/or during eligibility/graduation/transfer workshops.
