Ventura College Athletics Hall of Fame Eligibility Requirements

Nominees must have competed, coached, rendered extraordinary service and/or leadership, and/or brought special recognition to the athletic programs of Ventura College.

Any person may nominate by submitting, in writing, an Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Form to the VC Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Nomination deadline is Jan. 15 for consideration for that year's Hall of Fame induction. Nominees not selected for induction will remain in the pool for consideration in subsequent years.

Nominees as a Student Athlete have not played at VC for at least five years.
Criteria include:

*  On field success (All-American, All-Region and/or All-State honors; Conference MVP
    honors; National, State and/or VC Record(s); Extraordinary Athletic Achievement
    and/or Recognition)
*  Personal Career Success (played professional and/or made positive contributions to
    the community through their business, profession, contributions)

Nominees as a Coach have not worked at VC for at least five years.
Criteria include:

*  Win/Loss Record.
*  Conference Championships.
*  Transfer Success.
*  Conference/State/National Record(s).
*  Contributions to the community while coaching at Ventura College.

Nominees as a Contrbutor, Criteria Include:

*  Former Administrator, Faculty, Staff, Student and/or Student Athlete at
    Ventura College.
*  Contributions that helped the Ventura College Athletic Program and/or
    student athletes.
*  Contributions to the community that supports Ventura College Athletics.

Selection Process:

Goal of 4-6 inductees per year, with a majority featuring Student Athletes.

Consideration is also given to archived nomination forms.

Nomination forms are due by Jan. 15 of the year of induction.  Induction will coincide with the end of the year student athlete recognition banquet in May.

Selection committee will be comprised of the Athletic Director, Sports Information Director, Rotating Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) faculty member and, at most, three at large members comprised of any of the following: former Ventura College ICA employees, Ventura College Athletic contributors, Ventura College faculty, and/or Ventura College Athletics Hall of Fame members.

Committee members will vote via secret ballot with the top vote getters earning induction into the Ventura College Athletics Hall of Fame. Inductees will be announced in March prior to induction.
