Inclement weather forced the postponement of the Western State Conference tennis championships this past weekend. They have been rescheduled for Thursday April 14 at the Ventura College Tennis Center. Play begins at 12:00 pm on Thursday.
The Pirates will be well represented as the tournaments conclude. No. 1-seed Corey Karen and No. 2-seed and defending champion Hironori Koyanagi will face off in a rematch ofthe men's singles final at 2:00 pm. Meanwhile the duo is the top-seed in the doubles draw and will play in the semifinals along with the VC doubles team of Michael Burr and Guenter Newman, beginning at 12:00pm.
In women's singles, top-seed Mariko Sagara will begin the day in the semifinals of the women's singles draw, also beginning at noon.
The season will conclude with the CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Tournament on April 21-24.
